Selena Gomez is an internationally known actress and singer. The Disney television show Wizards of Waverly Place is one of her biggest success projects. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. She was born on 22nd July 1992, at Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett, and Ricardo Gomez are her parents. Her mother, Amanda Cornett was 16 years old at the time Selena was conceived. Her first professional showbiz work at the age of 9 when she appeared as Gianna as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. Thus, she was one of several children to play with Barney, the famous human-like pink dinosaur. Selena participated in several episodes in the seasons 7 and 8. Her time on the show was from 2001 until 2003. Interesting facts: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends during the time as well, worked alongside Selena. Selena Gomez left the show to audition for TV and film shows, but she was not able to find much successes. Selena got the role in the role of Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire and starred in Mini Spies 3 in 2003. Additionally, in 2006 she was Emily Grace Garcia on the Brain Zapped television program. To play the character, she wrote a song.
